Crash blocked lanes Monday on Highway 55

Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle property damage crash Monday evening that closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 55 for about an hour-and-a-half.

Leon Qualls, 63, of Emmett, was southbound on the highway in a 2006 Kenworth tractor pulling two trailers. He failed to negotiate a curve in the road, went off the road and hit the jersey barrier on the west side of the road. The semi came to rest blocking the northbound lane. The rear trailer overturned.

Quall was wearing his seatbelt. The Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
