Officers with the Boise Police Department have closed off two lanes on Front Street by the Interstate 84 Connector after a vehicle crashed into a building at the corner of 12th Street.

Haley Williams, a spokesperson for the police department, told the Idaho Statesman in a text message that officers are searching the area for the driver of the vehicle who fled the scene.

The passenger was taken to a local hospital with injuries that “appeared on scene to be life-threatening,” Williams said.

No one else was injured, and the building didn’t sustain “significant damage,” she added. Police are asking people to avoid the area if possible.
