A 49-year-old Arizona woman died in a two-vehicle crash Sunday in Boise, according to Idaho State Police.

The crash occurred about 10:59 p.m., near mile marker 3 on westbound Interstate 184.

Police said a 2018 Acura TLX driven by a 29-year-old Boise man rear-ended a 2015 Toyota Highlander driven by a 31-year-old male with four adult passengers, including the Arizona woman. The impact caused the Toyota to leave the roadway and strike a concrete structure before overturning and landing back in the travel lane.

All five people in the Toyota were transported to a local hospital where the 49-year-old woman died from her injuries. The driver of the Acura and the driver and passengers in the Toyota were all wearing seatbelts, according to state police.

The westbound lanes of I-184 were closed for about 3 hours and 45 minutes while emergency crews responded and investigators worked at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
