A two-vehicle collision Thursday caused a driver in Pocatello to veer onto a sidewalk, injuring five elementary-aged children at the intersection of Barton Road and South 4th Avenue.

The children were waiting on the corner to cross the street, a spokesperson for the Pocatello Police Department told the Idaho Statesman. The children were reported to be in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital shortly after being struck.

The cause of the incident is under investigation by the Pocatello Police Department.
