Two juveniles hospitalized following crash near Nampa. Driver not at scene

Two people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on Sunday.

A Ford pickup truck was driving south on Idaho 45 about 10:15 p.m. when it collided with an eastbound Volkswagen Beetle at the Missouri Avenue intersection, just south of Nampa, Idaho State Police said in a news release.

The Volkswagen driver and passenger, both juveniles, needed medical attention. First responders transported them to a local hospital by ambulance, according to the release.

Police said the Ford driver was not at the scene when officers arrived. Law enforcement did not immediately respond to the Idaho Statesman’s questions about whether this is being investigated as a hit-and-run.

The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Canyon County EMS and Nampa Fire Department assisted Idaho State Police at the scene.

Idaho State Police is investigating the accident.
