Traffic officials are warning those planning to drive along a portion of Interstate 84, north of Nampa and Caldwell and near the Oregon state line, about nighttime and overnight work that’s upcoming.

Maintenance work is scheduled to begin Sunday, June 7, on the U.S. Highway 30 bridge over I-84 at the New Plymouth interchange, which is exit nine, the Idaho Transportation Department said in a news release.

Crews will work on the project from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays for two weeks, the transportation department said.

The department said some I-84 lanes will be closed in both directions during these times.

“The work is part of regular bridge maintenance and will help preserve the structure and reduce the need for more extensive repairs in the future,” ITD said. “Drivers should slow down, watch for crews and follow posted signs in the work zone.”

Dates and times could change because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the release said.
