Canyon County coroner identifies victim of head-on crash in Caldwell on Monday

The Canyon County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a two-vehicle collision on Memorial Day as a 24-year-old Homedale man.

Juan Amador Lopez, of Caldwell, died at the scene of a two-vehicle collision involving his sedan and a commercial vehicle at about 2:30 Monday morning, near Simplot Boulevard and Farmway Road in western Caldwell.

According to a news release from Idaho State Police, Amador Lopez’s vehicle crossed the center line of the road and collided head-on with the Kenworth Sales Company truck. Amador Lopez sustained blunt force injuries and died at the scene, the coroner’s report stated.

The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time,” said Canyon County Coroner Jennifer Crawford in a press release Wednesday.
