Coroner identifies motorcycle crash victim on Floating Feather as Eagle teen

The Ada County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a 16-year-old who died two days after a motorcycle crash in Eagle.

Nicholas Sandry was pronounced dead by the coroner on May 7 after being taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, according to a news release. He sustained what officials called life-threatening injuries in the accident on May 5.

The cause and manner of death were listed as pending in the coroner’s report.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on Floating Feather Road at N. Downing Drive at about 12:55 p.m. on May 5, according to a previous release. Deputies found the teen and immediately began life-saving aid.

Sandry was transported by ambulance to Saint Al’s, and the person driving the vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the release stated.

The teen was operating a 2010 BMW S1000 motorcycle westbound on Floating Feather, and a 54-year-old was driving a 2005 Toyota Sienna eastbound, deputies said. The Toyota was making a turn onto Downing when a collision occurred at the intersection with the motorcycle, the release said.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident, the coroner’s report said.
