Two killed when family of four goes over edge on Arrowrock Road, lands in river

A truck carrying a local family went over the edge of a roadway north of Arrowrock Reservoir, killing two.

A family from Star was driving north on Arrowrock Road in a truck when the driver, a 38-year-old man, swerved to go around another vehicle at about 2 p.m. Saturday near mile marker 19 in Boise County, Idaho State Police said in a news release.

Police said the truck “got close to the edge of the road and rolled into the water.” The truck went into the Boise River, according to the Atlanta Highway District.

A 35-year-old female passenger and a juvenile were able to escape the truck, but the driver and a second juvenile died at the scene, according to police.

Police said the two survivors were transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police initially said a woman was driving, but later updated their statement.

The Boise County Sheriff’s Office assisted Idaho State Police at the scene.
