Payette man hospitalized after losing control of SUV and rolling off highway

A single-vehicle Payette County crash left one person hospitalized on Wednesday night.

A 21-year-old Payette man was driving an SUV east at about 11:23 p.m. on Idaho Highway 52 when he lost control of the vehicle, according to an Idaho State Police news release.

Police said the SUV went off the road near mile marker 7 and “rolled multiple times before colliding with a power pole.”

Emergency responders took the driver by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to the release.

Idaho State Police is investigating the accident. The agency was assisted at the scene by the Payette County Sheriff’s Office, Payette Paramedics, Payette Rural Fire and Fruitland Police Department.
