Teen dies in U.S. 20/26 crash after failing to yield, struck by semi

One person was killed in a Tuesday morning crash in Canyon County.

A 19-year-old man driving a Subaru Outback failed to yield to oncoming traffic shortly after 9 a.m. at the Wagoner Road and U.S. 20/26 intersection, Idaho State Police said in a Tuesday night news release.

Police said the 19-year-old proceeded through a stop sign and was struck by a semi truck driven by a 50-year-old man.

The Subaru driver died from his injuries at the scene, according to the release.

Law enforcement closed all lanes of the highway for about five hours following the accident.

The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Canyon County Paramedics and Caldwell Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Idaho State Police is investigating the crash.
