Coroner identifies Boise woman who died after multivehicle crash on I-84
A crash on I-84 involving two cars and a semi-truck hospitalized two people on Tuesday, and one of them died Thursday in an operating room.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office announced Friday that Kylie Sena, 25, of Boise, was pronounced dead Thursday morning at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
The coroner determined that the cause of death was traumatic blunt force injuries and the manner of death was an accident.
Sena was driving an SUV west on Interstate 84 when she collided with the back of a slowing semi at about 2:51 p.m., Idaho State Police said in a news release. According to police, the 37-year-old Caldwell man driving the semi had “slowed down for a disabled motorist up ahead.”
Sena’s vehicle then struck a pickup truck driven by a 25-year-old Meridian man, causing the pickup to come to rest in the lanes of the westbound on-ramp of exit 53, which is the Vista Avenue exit to the Boise Airport, the release said.
Sena and the pickup truck driver were both transported to the hospital.
The accident is still being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
