Boise woman, Meridian man hospitalized after three-vehicle crash on I-84

Two people were hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash Tuesday in Boise.

A 25-year-old Boise woman driving an SUV west on Interstate 84 collided with the back of a slowing semi-truck at about 2:51 p.m., Idaho State Police said in a news release.

Police said the 37-year-old Caldwell man driving the semi had “slowed down for a disabled motorist up ahead.”

The SUV driver then struck a pickup truck driven by a 25-year-old Meridian man, causing the pickup to come to rest in the lanes of the westbound on-ramp of exit 53, according to the release.

First responders transported the drivers of the SUV and pickup truck to a local hospital by ambulance, police said.

Traffic in the far-right lane was blocked for more than an hour as responders helped those involved and cleared the scene.

State police are investigating the accident.
