Traffic officials warned drivers to avoid a major downtown road on Wednesday afternoon.
The Ada County Highway District announced the closure of two lanes of West Front Street just west of Broadway Avenue. The lanes remained blocked as of 1:30 p.m., which would leave three lanes open.
Idaho Transportation Department crews also were at the scene, and workers were trying to repair a gas line break, ACHD said in a social media post.
“Please use an alternate route if possible and use caution in the area while crews address the gas line break,” the agency said.
