Crash on Idaho 21 sends Boise man, Caldwell woman to hospital

A single-vehicle crash just south of Idaho City injured two people and blocked Idaho 21 for about two hours Tuesday afternoon.

A 44-year-old Boise man was driving a Ford truck south on the highway when the truck went off the road at about 3:16 p.m. at milepost 19, Idaho State Police said in a news release.

First responders transported the driver to a hospital by air ambulance, while a 36-year-old female passenger from Caldwell was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance, according to police. An infant in a car seat in the truck was not injured.

Police said first responders brought the driver to a local hospital by ground ambulance and the passenger by air ambulance.

State police are investigating the accident. The Boise County Sheriff’s Office, Boise County Fire Department, Boise County EMS and Bureau of Land Management assisted at the scene.
