Coroner releases names of two men killed in Boise-area motorcycle accidents

Officials released the names of two people who died in recent vehicle accidents in the Treasure Valley, both of them involving motorcycles.

The Garden City Police Department reported that a motorcyclist died after hitting a parked vehicle at about 7 p.m. Friday near East 36th and North Osage streets in Garden City. The Ada County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday identified that person as 72-year-old Alan Smith, of Honeoye Falls, New York.

Smith died at 7:38 p.m. Friday in the emergency department of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, according to the coroner’s report, which listed cause and manner of death as pending.

Another motoryclist died in the same hospital the next day.

Jarrid Gardom Sr., 54, of Caldwell, was involved in a collision with a vehicle on July 15 near 5500 block of East Franklin Road in Nampa, according to the coroner. Gardom was pronounced dead at 1:16 p.m. Saturday in the Saint Al’s intensive care unit, the coroner said.

The coroner listed his cause of death as traumatic blunt force injuries and the manner of death as accidental.
