Coroner identifies Idaho woman killed after she crashed into teen-driven truck
The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified a 45-year-old Idaho woman killed in a two-vehicle crash near Fruitland on Monday night.
The U.S. 95 accident claimed the life of Darcy Reynolds, of Fruitland, who was driving south just before 11 p.m. Monday when she crossed over the center line of the highway and collided head-on with a truck, according to an Idaho State Police news release.
Police said that vehicle, a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, was driven by a teenager and had two teen passengers. Only one passenger in the truck had to be transported to a local hospital; their condition was not released.
Reynolds, was transported via air to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where she died of traumatic blunt force injuries at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, the Ada County Coroner’s Office stated in a news release.
Idaho State Police noted that Reynolds was wearing a seat belt, as were the passengers in the Dodge truck. The driver of the truck was not.
After the collision, the southbound lanes and one of the northbound lanes of U.S. 95 were blocked for more than two hours.
Idaho State Police and the Payette Police Department are still investigating the accident.
