The Nampa Police Department warned drivers of delays along Orchard Avenue and Caldwell Boulevard on Tuesday after a sinkhole developed at the intersection of the two streets.

Orchard Avenue was closed at the Caldwell Boulevard intersection early Tuesday morning, with Nampa police alerting drivers via social media at approximately 7:20 a.m. The outside eastbound lane on Caldwell Boulevard was also closed.

City of Nampa spokesperson Amy Bowman told the Idaho Statesman that the city had not received any claims of personal property damage or injuries due to the sinkhole.

Nampa police issued an update at 10:45 a.m. that traffic was flowing on Caldwell Boulevard, but commuters should still expect delays. Bowman said crews plan to finish repairs to the damaged roadway by the end of Tuesday, and the intersection should be reopened by Wednesday morning at the latest.
