A loved one of three men who died in a single-vehicle crash in Elmore County is asking the community for financial help supporting her family and friends “during a very difficult time.”

Just after 2:30 p.m. Monday, the driver of a Ford Focus missed a turn on Old Oregon Trail Road near Hammett Hill Road, according to Idaho State Police. The car left the road, overturned and ejected all three of the occupants, who all died at the scene.

Esmeralda Juárez, who created the GoFundMe, identified the three men as Manuel Gonzalez Hernandez, Leonzo Zepeda Rodríguez and Cupertino Zepeda Rodríguez.

Elmore County Coroner Nickie Campbell wasn’t available when an Idaho Statesman reporter contacted her office Wednesday afternoon to ask for information.

“This tragedy has left their families and loved ones in shock and grief,” Juárez wrote.

She’s asking for help reaching their goal of $6,500. So far, the GoFundMe, which will be used to help alleviate expenses for funeral services, travel and other needs, has raised a little over $1,000.

“Let’s come together to support the families during this unimaginable time,” Juárez wrote. “Your kindness and generosity will make a meaningful difference to the families facing this difficult situation.”
