Three-vehicle crash hospitalizes one, blocks Idaho Highway 55 for 3 hours

One person was hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash just north of Cascade on Monday morning.

A 30-year-old McCall man was driving a pickup truck south on Idaho Highway 55 when he crossed the center line and struck two vehicles at 6:54 a.m. at mile marker 119, north of Smalley Road in Valley County, the Idaho State Police said in a news release.

Police said the McCall man sustained critical injuries and emergency responders transported him to the hospital by air ambulance.

The drivers of the other vehicles, a 25-year-old Kuna man and 35-year-old Emmett man, did not need treatment at a hospital, according to law enforcement.

The highway was blocked for about three hours as responders helped those involved and cleared the scene.

The Idaho State Police is investigating the incident.
