Three motorcycles and a car crashed at an intersection near Lake Lowell in Canyon County, causing serious injuries, Idaho State Police said.

According to a news release:

A group of motorcycles was westbound on Lake Shore Drive, on the south side of Lake Lowell west of Nampa, at 11:19 a.m. Saturday. A 47-year-old woman from Highlands, California, was eastbound in a 2015 Honda Accord.

A 34-year-old woman from Boise riding a white 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle tried to catch up with the other motorcyclists. “The motorcycle crossed into the eastbound lanes and sideswiped the Honda Accord,” the release said. “The driver of the Honda Accord swerved into the westbound lanes and struck a maroon 2010 Victory motorcycle head on.”

A 33-year-old woman from North Platte, Nebraska, was riding the Victory cycle. A black 2023 Can-AM Ryker motorcycle, driven by a 49-year-old-from Nampa, then struck the Accord. All four vehicles came to rest at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Pump Road.

The driver of the Victory motorcycle was taken by an air ambulance to a hospital. The driver of the Harley Davidson was taken by a ground ambulance to a hospital.

The intersection was closed for about three hours.

The driver of the Accord was wearing her seat belt.

This incident remained under investigation by the Idaho State Police. There was no update Monday on the drivers’ conditions.
