Boise crash snarls traffic on westbound Interstate 84. Motorists advised to avoid area
A crash on westbound Interstate 84 near South Cole Road was snarling traffic on Saturday morning, according to officials.
A stretch of the interstate stretching almost to the airport has slow traffic speeds, according to the Idaho Transportation Department’s online map and Google Maps. A traffic camera at milepost 51 showed dozens of cars stretching into the distance.
“Traffic is down to one lane east of Cole,” the Boise Police Department said on X, formerly Twitter. “Please avoid the area.”
Idaho State Police did not immediately return a request for comment. Boise Police Spokesperson Haley Kramer said BPD was helping with traffic control.
