Boise woman dies in I-84 crash with semi, another Treasure Valley resident hospitalized

A Gooding County crash left one person dead and another hospitalized Sunday morning.

A 71-year-old Nampa woman was driving a Chevrolet Silverado truck east on Interstate 84 at 7:59 a.m. when she drove off the roadway near Bliss, Idaho State Police said in a news release. As the woman drove back onto the roadway, she hit a semi truck’s trailer, according to police.

Police said the Chevrolet’s passenger, a 65-year-old woman from Boise, died from her injuries at the scene.

First responders transported the Chevrolet driver to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.

The interstate’s eastbound lanes were blocked for about six hours after the accident as emergency responders worked at the scene.
