Coroner releases name, cause of death of Boise woman killed in car crash on the Bench

Officials released the name of the woman who died in a car fire after an accident on the Boise Bench last week.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Gina Moore, 33, of Boise.

Police and the Boise Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday in the 2400 block of South Owyhee Street and found the vehicle on fire, according to the Boise Police Department.

Bystanders rescued a man who was a passenger before first responders arrived, and firefighters removed the driver from the car as they extinguished the flames, the Idaho Statesman previously reported. First responders took both people to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

Moore was pronounced dead at the hospital at about 10:44 p.m., according to the coroner’s office. The coroner listed cause of death as “multiple blunt force injuries” and the manner of death as accidental.

Police said evidence indicated that Moore hit a median at high speed while heading southbound on South Owyhee Street toward a hill where the road winds over the New York Canal.

The passenger remained in critical condition as of Wednesday, according to police.
