Idaho State Police investigates death of Caldwell pedestrian in weekend SUV collision

A pedestrian was struck and killed in a Caldwell collision Sunday.

A 19-year-old man from Caldwell was driving a Nissan Rogue north on Kimball Avenue near Felton Street when he hit a 46-year-old woman at about 7:05 p.m., according to an Idaho State Police news release.

The pedestrian, who was also from Caldwell, died from her injuries after she was transported by an ambulance to a local hospital, police said. Her name has not been released.

The driver was not taken to the hospital, police said.

Kimball Avenue was blocked for more than two hours after the accident to allow “emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene,” according to police.

Police said they were continuing to investigate.
