Meridian teenager dies after being ejected from vehicle in crash with tree, fence
A Meridian teenager was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday at the corner of West Ustick Road and North Naomi Avenue in Meridian, according to a news release from the Ada County Coroner’s Office.
Elijah Waters, 16, was pronounced dead at 6:03 p.m. after being transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. The cause of death was blunt force injury to the head, according to the coroner.
At approximately 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Meridian police responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a 2007 gray Cadillac STS driving eastbound that had left the roadway and hit a tree and fence. Waters was ejected from the vehicle, according to the Meridian Police Department.
An investigation into the crash is being conducted by the Meridian Police Department and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
