Coroner identifies Kuna man who died after two trucks hit him on I-84 in Idaho

The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian who died after being hit by two vehicles along Interstate 84 in Meridian on Saturday.

The victim was 32-year-old Nicholas Palmieri, of Kuna, according to the coroner’s report released Monday. His cause of death was listed as traumatic blunt force injuries.

Palmieri was seen running on the highway near Eagle Road shortly after noon on Saturday, when he was struck by a Buick driven by a 77-year-old Meridian man, according to Idaho State Police. He was then hit a second time by a Freightliner semitrailer driven by a 66-year-old Caldwell man, ISP said.

The coroner’s office was called to the scene at 12:05 p.m. and Palmieri was pronounced dead at 1:17 p.m., the report said.

Police are still investigating the incident.
