A portion of Idaho 55 near Smiths Ferry is expected to be closed for a few hours, the Valley County Sheriff’s Office said around 8 a.m. Thursday.

At 6:13 a.m. Thursday the sheriff’s office was notified of a single-vehicle rollover involving a semitruck at milepost 92, which is 19 miles south of Cascade, according to a Facebook post from the department. The highway is closed from mileposts 90 to 97.

The driver’s condition or what caused the rollover was unclear.

The Facebook post, which was posted around 8 a.m., said the Idaho Transportation Department closed the highway to traffic for the next two to three hours. ITD’s website confirmed the closure.

The Valley County Sheriff’s Office told the Idaho Statesman by phone Thursday that Idaho State Police was on the scene. The Statesman has reached out to state police for further information.
