Coroner identifies 82-year-old who died in Emmett crash. Idaho State Police investigating

An 82-year-old Emmett man has died after a two-vehicle collision in Gem County on Thursday, according to a report from Ada County Coroner Dotti Owens.

Larry Sawyer was pronounced dead at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise after being transported to the hospital by air ambulance. The coronor’s report said Sawyer “succumbed to his injuries” sustained in the accident.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Idaho 52 and Mill Road near Emmett. Sawyer was wearing a seat belt, but it is unclear whether he was a driver or passenger in one of the vehicles.

The accident is being investigated by Idaho State Police, according to the coroner’s office.
