Idaho 21 between Idaho City and Lowman is closed as a result of poor weather conditions, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.

The closure is between Granite Creek Road, north of Idaho City, and south of Banks Lowman Road in Lowman.

“Look out for drifting snow on the roadway,” said a note on ITD’s website. “Be prepared for heavy snow. Driving conditions are hazardous.”

Portions of the highway have been closed since around 10 a.m., according to an Idaho 511 tweet.

Between 2 and 4 inches of snow are expected through Friday evening in Idaho City and Lowman, according to the National Weather Service. The Boise area is expected to get less than an inch.
