Update: All eastbound I-84 lanes closed west of Caldwell after lumber truck loses cargo
The winter storm hitting Boise and the Treasure Valley caused accidents and lane closures on Interstate 84 and the Boise I-184 Connector on Wednesday.
Around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, the Idaho State Police reported all eastbound lanes on Interstate 84 west of Caldwell are closed after a load of lumber fell off of a semitrailer near milepost 21.
Early Wednesday afternoon, ISP also reported that a westbound crash on I-84 between Meridian Road and Ten Mile Road has closed the left lane to traffic.
Also, the far left lane on Interstate 84 at mile marker 22, west of Caldwell, was blocked by a stalled semitrailer, ISP said in a tweet.
On Wednesday morning, ISP reported that a crash on westbound I-184 had closed two lanes. By 12:30 p.m., the accident had been cleared, according to a tweet.
No injuries have been reported in Wednesday’s crashes. Between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., state troopers responded to 22 crashes and 14 slide-offs between Payette and Elmore Counties.
“If you have to travel, allow extra room between vehicles,” an ISP tweet said. “Be patient with each other.”
State Police troopers responded to crashes and slide-offs throughout the Treasure Valley on Wednesday, they said.
The National Weather Service predicted moderate snowfall throughout the valley on Wednesday, with major snowfall in the upper Weiser River area.
