The chill is gone: Interfaith Sanctuary asks for summer donations

Hot temperatures can be as challenging for homeless men, women and children as cold temperatures because of exposure to sun and heat.

Interfaith Sanctuary, the shelter in Boise’s River Street neighborhood, is preparing for the challenge. The shelter is asking for donations of flip flops of all sizes, Lipton instant iced tea, sunscreen, aloe vera, 8 oz. plastic cups, ChapStick, deodorant and reusable water bottles.

If you can help, drop donations at the shelter, 1620 W. River St. in Boise between 6 to 8 p.m. Ask for the shift manager on duty.

You can also drop donations at the shelter development office, 3350 W. Americana Terrace, Ste. 320 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The shelter is also in need of sheets for twin beds.
