The 2nd annual Pooch Pageant will take place at 3 p.m. on March 13 at the Powerhouse Event Center, 621 S. 17th St. in Boise. The family-friendly event will benefit the Idaho Humane Society’s Pet Food Pantry. The event will feature dogs, dogs, dogs, dancing dogs, strutting dogs, costumed dogs, dogs’ owners telling stories about their dogs and more. Like a silent auction and a raffle. And a clown will even be on site making balloon animals (dogs).

If your hound would like to be in the pageant, the cost is $20 before Feb. 28 if spots remain and $30 after. Register online at poochpageant.org.

If you would like to attend, but not compete, admission is free with a donation of cat food, cat litter, cat treats, dog food or dog treats. All donations will go to the Pet Food Pantry which provides pet food for financially strapped homes. You must RSVP to hold your spot at poochpageant.org.

Last year’s pageant brought in 230 pounds of pet food.
