Fun for Fido! See Spot Walk benefit for the Idaho Humane Society is back Saturday
This seems to be the comeback year for in-person festivities. Wahoo!
And not only for us, but for our four-legged companions whose social calendars were also affected by the pandemic.
Sad puppy eyes were replaced with happy tails during this year’s Pooch Party Stroll and Splash on Aug. 27 at Nampa’s Lakeview Park.
In case you and your pup were unable to join the other 500-ish dogs that Saturday, you’ll get a chance to make it up to your furry friend this weekend during See Spot Walk at Julia Davis Park, 700 S. Capitol Blvd., Boise.
The 30th dog festival fundraiser is back after a two-year virtual hiatus, kicking off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. It consists of a one-mile walk, contests with prizes, and pet-friendly vendors with tasty treats and other goodies. And yes, food and drinks will be available for owners, too.
“Not only is this the largest dog walk in Idaho, but it is also the Idaho Humane Society’s most significant fundraiser, assisting IHS in its mission to advocate for the responsible care and welfare of animals in the Treasure Valley and beyond,” according to a news release.
Registration is $30 and includes a limited-edition T-shirt, a doggy bandanna and other fun stuff. Pay $55 and get a hoodie along with your T-shirt. Advance registration is encouraged, but day-of will also be available — both online and in-person — for $40 and $60.
