Bring your green to the Boise St. Patrick’s Day Run to benefit the YMCA
St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, which generally means a wee bit of drinking, eh?
However, if you are looking to celebrate without a stout hangover after throwing back pints of green beer, you’re in luck! There is a healthier yet still festive option.
The St. Patrick’s Day Run is Saturday at Julia Davis Park, 700 S. Capitol Blvd., Boise.
The fun run consists of a 5k and a 5-mile course, which both begin at 10 a.m., as well as a Leprechaun Loop (one-mile run for children) at 9:30 a.m. All options depart from the Gene Harris Bandshell.
And don’t forget to dress the part! Pull out those green tights. Got a shamrock shirt? Perfect. Or if all else fails, just wear that green.
The all-ages event supports the recreational programs and services of the YMCA, a “nonprofit committed to strengthening community by empowering young people, improving the health and well-being of people of all ages and inspiring action in and across communities,” according to its website.
Cost is $30, no matter what course you choose to run. Register at ymcatvidaho.org/runs/st-patricks-day-fun-run. For questions, call 208-344-5502, ext. 280, or email racedirector@ymcatvidaho.org.
