Bid on unique pieces at Boise’s ‘Art with a Heart,’ help those suffering with AIDS
When COVID-19 hit Idaho hard in 2020, event calendars were turned upside down. To protect the health and well-being of the community, most events were modified to an online platform or canceled altogether.
With the vaccine becoming available in 2021, in-person events were making a comeback. However, because of social distancing issues, some had to continue as a virtual format, such as Valentine for AIDS, the annual silent art auction fundraiser for the Safety Net for Aids Program (SNAP).
And with the pandemic running strong again, Flying M Coffeehouse in Boise will once again be unable to host the auction.
Fortunately, members of Art Source Gallery wish to continue the fundraising efforts of Flying M and will hold an “Art with a Heart” silent auction to benefit SNAP, which helps Treasure Valley residents with HIV/AIDS pay for housing, groceries, utility bills, etc.
Unique love-themed works created by local artists will be on display and available for bidding during a silent auction starting Thursday, Feb. 3, and running until Friday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Art Source Gallery, 1015 W. Main St., Boise.
The opening reception will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on First Thursday this week at the gallery, and will feature an opportunity to place bids while enjoying music, Valentine’s Day-themed nibbles and wine from Indian Creek Winery.
Winning bidders may pick up their works Feb. 13-16.
