Paint a bowl Saturday at Village at Meridian for Idaho Foodbank’s Empty Bowls fundraiser
Do you enjoy being creative and supporting a good cause?
Sweet! Then plan on spending Saturday at The Village at Meridian for an event that will allow you to channel your inner artist and express yourself with paint.
A Way with Clay, an all-inclusive paint-your-own-pottery studio, has organized a Paint a Bowl event from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at The Village in the empty space between Panache and Rural Haze.
Participants will choose a bowl — waffle cone, bene, tapered or (smooth) cone — and then select a time to paint. There are sessions from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., noon to 1:30 p.m., 1:30 to 3 p.m., 3 to 4:30 p.m., and 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Everything you need to jazz up your bowl will be provided.
All bowls were originally going to be donated to The Idaho Foodbank’s Summer Empty Bowls, but that event was canceled due to COVID-19.
However, the traditional Empty Bowls event in November is still planned, so bowls will be donated to that fundraiser instead.
The details are still being worked out for that event, but in case you are unfamiliar, people pick out a bowl from the selection of unique, hand-painted choices (maybe yours), purchase it, and then fill it with a yummy hot soup from one of the local participating restaurants.
The funds raised support The Idaho Foodbank to help feed families all winter. A Way with Clay will also donate $1 per bowl from the Paint a Bowl event.
Tickets for Paint a Bowl are $14 or $18, depending on which bowl you choose, and available at eventbrite.com. For more information, call 208-297-2333.
