Helping works: Donate to radio host’s Feed the Need for Boise Rescue Mission Ministries

As the state is in the stages of reopening, we can also begin our individual process of getting back to normal, which may include getting back to our roots: an “Idaho that uplifts, giving a hand up, not just a handout,” according to a press release.

Not to imply that through these challenging times we haven’t been generous, because the community has gone above and beyond. But it’s only natural for us to put ourselves and family first during a pandemic.

And as our lives slowly stabilize, it’s important to realize that others will continue to struggle.

In order to restore those most in need, radio host Kevin Miller is once again asking the community to donate to the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries during the biannual Miller’s Mission: Feed the Need.

Kevin Miller, of KIDO Talk Radio 107.5 FM and 580 AM, is camping out at the Walmart at 5875 E. Franklin Road in Nampa from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Saturday, May 23. He will be hosting his morning show while collecting donations for the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries, a “nonprofit organization committed to meeting the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of homeless and addicted individuals in the Boise and Nampa areas.”

“As we all face unforeseen challenges, we’re asking for the Treasure Valley to help our friends at the Boise Rescue Mission to continue to make a difference in saving lives in our community,” Miller said. “A box, a can, a cash donation, is a game changer when it comes to making a difference.”

You can drop off cash donations, canned food, hand sanitizer, fresh produce and other supplies at the Franklin Road Walmart in Nampa, where social distancing protocols will be in place, online at boiserm.org, by calling 208-343-2389, or by going to any Rescue Mission facility.
