SW Idaho restaurant offers free front-door delivery on ‘Quarantine Butcher Boxes’

The coronavirus pandemic has put people in panic mode, frantically stocking up on food and supplies (some would say to the point of hoarding).

This isn’t news.

You can’t scroll through social media without seeing pics of empty store shelves or browse a list headlines without running into one that doesn’t talk about toilet paper and how it’s sold out everywhere.

And then there’s that recurring message of items being currently unavailable when shopping online, a trend that has undoubtedly spiked since the act of social distancing was strongly advised.

It’s all so unsettling.

If there was only a way to get food delivered and guaranteed in stock.

Anderson Reserve has answered our prayers. And I’m just gonna go there ... it’s a sweet deal!

The family-owned restaurant and butchery, located in Sweet, Idaho, between Boise and McCall, is supporting its community during this unnerving situation by offering its “Quarantine Butcher Box” at an affordable price — and it will be hand-delivered to your front door for free. Yep, free!

The box contains: two 8-ounce prime dry aged New York strip steaks, two pounds of apple wood smoked bacon five pounds of all natural ground chuck, two pounds of all natural ground chuck patties and six pieces of six-ounce free range boneless skinless chicken breast.

All meats are locally sourced and aged, and cut and prepared in house.

The box costs $100 and will be delivered to Treasure Valley residents and neighboring towns for free. Owner Paul Anderson, his parents Dennis and Phemia, and his girlfriend, Samantha will be personally taking care of these deliveries. And boxes can be expected to arrive within a week of ordering.

“Our friends that come visit the barn and eat at Anderson Reserve mean so much to us,” Paul Anderson explains. “It’s our pleasure to deliver our quality meats to their doorsteps, with no delivery fee.”

The Anderson Reserve, located at 7275 Sweet Ola Highway, was established to continue the family tradition and craftsmanship of butchery over three generations.

His grandfather Paul Anderson Sr. founded the Anderson Boneless Beef Co. in 1975 and had always dreamed of having a retail store where he could interact with the customers, according to the business website.

And in 2009, he brought his grandfather’s vision to fruition with the Anderson Reserve, a barn that houses a custom butchery of hand-crafted meats, a market, and a country fine dining experience.

The restaurant is open and taking reservations by calling 208-352-6166.

For those who want to really stock up, three new larger boxes were recently added — the “Ultimate Quarantine,” “Prepper Package” and “Freezer Filler” — and are available for free delivery as well.

And if you’d like to do a little customization of your box, that option is available with orders placed by phone.

Need something to pair with all the good meals you’ll be cookin’ up? Anderson Reserve is currently working on having beer and wine deliveries available, too. Cheers!
