Cabin Fever Reliever brings the outdoors inside to benefit Kids First Cast
The transition from winter to spring is always tough.
So many wet, dreary days deterring you and your family from any sort of outdoor activity.
Have the kids exhausted all of their creative ideas to keep busy and entertained at home by now? Very likely.
Is the entire household becoming just a tad restless at this point? Lord, yes!
Get a head start on kicking the winter blahs at the Cabin Fever Reliever on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Caldwell Events Center, 2207 Blaine St. (new venue this year).
The eighth annual event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature activities for all ages of outdoor enthusiasts. Kids can stop at various stations to master the skill of casting a fishing line, using an archery bow, or perhaps learn about hunting and/or water safety.
Professionals will be on hand to assist and answer questions.
Visit with vendors and community partners for information on conservation and how to make the most of your outdoor adventures.
There will also be special guest appearances by “Star Wars” characters.
So be sure to take a break from all the hands-on exercises to snap a photo with characters from the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion and Mandalorian.
And parents, don’t forget to enter to win a camping or fishing package.
Admission is just $1, and children 4 and younger get in free.
All proceeds and photo donations will benefit Kids First Cast, which “helps build and sustain healthy communities by providing education, conservation, and outdoor recreation in a safe and inviting environment for kids and their families while enjoying the sport of fishing.”
