Strip down for Cupid’s Undie Run in Boise to raise money for Children’s Tumor Foundation
January has been not as cold as usual, but still cold.
And as we head into February, I predict there will still be a nip in the air.
And positively more lining the streets of Downtown Boise on Feb. 8 for the annual Cupid’s Undie Run.
Wanna hang out in your underwear? In public? Without getting arrested? Don’t we all! Here’s the scoop.
The day kicks off at noon at Tom Grainey’s, 109 S. 6th St., Boise, with music, drinks and socializing with fellow near-naked participants.
There will also be a photo booth, and a couple of ladies from the Glitter Project group will be on site to “bedazzle” any exposed skin.
Then head out at 2 p.m. for a mile-ish fun run. Plan on streaking the streets for about 15 minutes (yeah, it’s totally, ahem, ”brief”), and then return to the bar for dancing and more drinks until 4 p.m.
The pantless party “raises awareness of neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, and fundraises for NF research through the Children’s Tumor Foundation.”
And since “those affected with NF can’t cover up their tumors to feel more comfortable,” it’s only fair that we ditch the clothes.
However, if mingling in just skivvies isn’t really your thing, not a problem. Tutus and onesies are popular options, or get creative with a costume.
In fact, awards will be handed out at around 3 p.m. for best male and female costume.
Registration is $40. The price increases to $45 on Feb. 3, or pay $50 at the door.
