It’s not even Halloween yet, but costumes are encouraged this weekend.

I’m talking capes, tights and Spandex — whatever gets you superhero ready.

The Children’s Tumor Foundation will host the 4th annual Idaho NF Walk to raise awareness and funds for neurofibromatosis (NF) research on Saturday, Sept. 16, at Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park, 1900 N. Records Ave. in Meridian.

Registration opens at 10 a.m. and the walk starts at 11:30 a.m.

There is a Mighty Mile Fun Run and a Family Walk (both for adults and children), as well as a Kids’ Hero Flash Day designed for the smaller participants.

The annual Idaho NF Walk unites families across Idaho who have been touched by NF for a day with food, face painting, music, booths, costumed superheroes and fun. Throughout the event, the Children’s Tumor Foundation honors “NF Heroes” who have demonstrated remarkable courage living with neurofibromatosis.

Registration is $20 general, $10 children 4-12, free for ages 3 and younger.

For additional information and registration, go to nfwalk.org/idaho.
