Idaho National Guard family to receive free roof

A construction crew from Idaho Roofing Contractors will install a new roof for a Nampa family on Monday as a show of gratitude for soldiers who serve the nation.

Sgt. Doug Prickett of the Idaho Army National Guard and his wife, Margie, were chosen as part of a national program by Owens Corning.

Idaho Roofing Contractors, which has operated in Nampa for more than 11 years, is donating labor costs for the project, while Owens Corning will provide the roofing materials.

“We want this roof to be a statement to all of America’s military servicemen and women that they are not alone. We are here at home doing what we can to help and this is the kind of work that can change people’s lives, and that’s a great feeling,” Levi Phillips, president of Idaho Roofing Contractors, said in a written release.
