Enjoying the clear skies, Boise? Wildfire smoke forecast says kiss them goodbye
The National Weather Service in Boise warned that smoke from the California wildfires could be back over Idaho and the Treasure Valley by Wednesday.
The area will continue to see seasonally warm temperatures and dry conditions, according to the NWS fire weather forecast. The high in Boise could reach 85 degrees Wednesday.
Boise NWS meteorologist Joel Tannenholz said the smoke likley will blow in Wednesday morning and could last through Saturday. A cold front is expected on Sunday, which could help clear the air.
Although the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality still forecasts Wednesday’s and Thursday’s air quality to be “good,” or in the green zone, there is still an outdoor burn ban across Ada County and Canyon County.
