Over 83,000 acres have burned in the Payette National Forest in the Woodhead Fire. As of Tuesday, 38% of that blaze was controlled, and nearly 300 people are at the scene of the fire.

Flames in the Sawtooth National Forest forced the closure of Idaho Highway 21 on Tuesday. The Trap Fire caused the road to close for a 7-mile stretch between Grandjean Road and Cape Horn Road, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.

The road remained closed as of Wednesday morning, and the fire has burned at least 350 acres.

Wildfires have burned thousands of acres across the West, leaving many without homes and producing poor air quality for many states.
