West Ada School District is searching for people interested in becoming school board trustees, even though there isn’t a vacancy to fill.
Tina Dean, board chairwoman, asked the district to post a survey asking what people were looking for in a trustee and an application to become one, said Mary Ann Ranells, district superintendent.
Both Dean and trustee Julie Madsen have discussed resigning if a move to recall them and two other trustees goes to a vote.
The search is “proactive” said Eric Exline, district spokesman.

Filling out an application, also on the website, could be premature, because no one knows which of the five zones that elect trustees could have a vacancy.
Board vacancies are filled by remaining trustees.
