Riverstone International School expects to open a residential program next fall that will provide living space for 16 students in ninth through 12th grades.

The school at 5521 E Warm Springs Ave. will lease three stories of a building planned for construction at 13th and River streets in Downtown Boise.

Riverstone plans to expand the residential program to 32 students.

The building is being developed by ABRI Partners LLC, which will lease the upper three stories to Riverstone. Office space is planned for the ground floor.

ABRI is still working on construction costs for the building.

The school has relied on host homes in the area to house students attending Riverstone from outside the region.

“With a residential program, we will be able to offer more students the opportunity to receive an international education with Boise’s livability as a key component of their experience,” said Bob Carignan, head of the school.

Riverstone is a private school with 325 students in preschool through high school. It offers the International Baccalaureate program, which teaches to an international education standard.
