A bus carrying preschool children was involved in an injury crash Monday in Meridian.

Bus V72, operated by Durham School Services, was taking six preschool students to the Idaho Educational Services for the Deaf and Blind — located at Amity Elementary School — when it was involved in an accident at the corner of Locust Grove Road and Watertower Street, according to a news release from the West Ada School District.

One student and the bus monitor were transferred by ambulance to St. Luke’s Meridian for evaluation, the district said. Their conditions were not known.

Three other students were released to adult guardians, and the remaining two students were taken on another bus to Amity Elementary, the district said.

“The safety of our students is our highest priority, and we take our responsibility to provide safe transportation very seriously,” read a statement from West Ada.

The Meridian Police Department and Durham School Services are investigating the incident.
