Boise Police find no threat at Centennial High after school went on brief lockdown

Breaking News

Centennial High School in Boise went into lockdown Wednesday morning but there was no threat at the school, according to the West Ada School District and Ada County Dispatch.

The lockdown began at 11:23 a.m., according to the school district. By 11:52 a.m., the Boise Police Department determined there was no threat.

The district said in an email that it doesn’t have all of the details behind what initiated the lockdown, but “students and staff are safe and operations are back to normal.”

West Ada School District spokesperson Char Jackson told the Idaho Statesman that the school and police are working to determine how the incident happened. Police arrived at the school as a precautionary measure, she said.

“There was no threat,” Jackson said in a text message.
