The middle school is on lockdown while police evaluate the situation.

After an evaluation, Nampa police have determined that there was “no actual threat” at a middle school in western Nampa.

Students at Lone Star Middle School were on lockdown Thursday morning after an alarm was reported, according to the Nampa Police Department.

At 12:15 p.m., the department tweeted, “The Nampa Police Department has determined Lone Star Middle School is clear.”

Police said they were still investigating what caused the alarm to go off at the school on the corner of Lone Star and Middleton roads.

Earlier, in an 11:30 a.m. tweet, police announced they had received a “report of a lock down alarm” at the school. “We are attempting to determine if this was an alarm system malfunction, false activation or actual incident,” the tweet stated.
